Timothy Roberts is GameStreamer's CEO, and is responsible for launching a variety of successful high technology companies as a founder. Two of his most successful startups as a founder are broadband services provider Savvis Communications (NASDAQ: SVVS) which currently hauls over 1/3rd of all internet transports and net-sourcing service provider Intira Corporation, which successfully raised more than $250 million in equity capital before its sale to Divine Interventures (NASDAQ: DVIN) which they later sold to Data Return (now Terremark) which powers companies such as match.com, Lego, YouTube, Akamai, BMW and Verisign . As a seed investor, Tim helped launch Phoenix Networks, a nationwide DSL provider that was sold to MegaPath Networks and Earthlink and was one of the nation’s largest DSL providers for both residential and business services.
Timothy has been a notable presence in the online industry since the age of 12, with his first Apple and Commodore computers. He ran BBS's and was known in the "Where Wizards Stay up Late" world. Precursor to the Internet he was paving the way through BBS communities built by the Elite 100 some of who later founded UUNET, Digex and others went on to run the government’s security systems.
Steig is the original creator of software streaming and an inventor of several patented software streaming techniques. For nearly a decade, he worked as a consultant in Silicon Valley, assisting in the launch of many startups. He had achieved recognition as a business innovator before founding GameWave, the first of several startups he launched.
Stream Theory, another of Steig’s startups, was the earliest software streaming company. Stream Theory pioneered the concept of streaming delivery that has transitioned into SaaS. Steig sold Stream Theory to a UK listed organization, where he served as a director and CEO. Steig joined Gamestreamer to apply his expertise to the next important development for businesses: streaming software applications over open and within corporate networks.
In addition to founding and growing companies, Steig is a Certified Public Accountant.
A start up veteran, Robb has been creating innovative products and marketing programs for digital media since 1995. He's driven the concept and development of many successful products for digital commerce including those focused on enabling effective merchandising and monetization. Robb leverages his ecommerce knowledge from direct experience as well. From Trymedia and it's over 500 partner stores to CyberSource and its Beyond.com spinoff. Even at Inmac, a print catalog (now CDW), Robb was crafting some creative merchandising and marketing programs.
Previously, Robb was VP of Products at Retrevo creating innovative products and driving the social media strategy. Prior, Robb was Sr. Director of Product Management and Marketing for Trymedia Games where he drove the private label digital distribution and commerce platform and the in-game advertising products. At iBEAM Broadcasting, Robb's team developed a digital media commerce system enabling entertainment and media companies to monetize their streaming media content. An original employee at CyberSource, Robb performed product and marketing roles and was a key player in transitioning the company from an online retailer (Beyond.com) to the leading On-Demand commerce provider.
Tom Swanson is responsible for Strategic Business Development and M&A. He is a proven Sales and Marketing leader, with over 20 years of executive experience in software, telecommunications and related high tech industries. He successfully led two Tier 1 Silicon Valley VC funded start-ups as VP of Sales from ground zero through to IPO and successful sale. Tom is a proven sales leader. He is an expert in building high performance sales teams for both direct sales and channel/OEM sales. He is also a managing director with The McLean Group, a middle market Investment Bank providing M&A advisory services to technology companies.
Terry has a wide range of financial reporting and accounting experience in the telecommunications and other industries where his responsibilities have included GAAP reporting, operating and capital budgets, regulatory filings and compliance reporting.
Terry’s career includes serving as Chief Financial Officer at Abaris Care, Inc., Controller of Wireless One Network (sold to AT&T Wireless for $850 million). As Controller, Terry spearheaded the transition of the accounting functions from the Wireless One Network to AT&T Wireless for a 12-month post sale transition period. After serving as Controller at Wireless One, he joined Phantom Entertainment, Inc.
Laura’s first foray into computer gaming was on a DEC PDP-8 when she programmed the game ‘Clue’ in Dartmouth Basic on paper tape. At the time, she felt there was no future in computers, and moved onto a career in therapy. Laura counseled mentally ill adults, as well as supervising other therapists. She worked in MH programs in Austin, Texas and in the New York City area where she later switched to non-profit administration.
Laura was a fixture in Austin’s legendary music and literary scene. She was one of the first poets invited to the renowned Austin International Poetry Festival. In NYC, she was twice selected to join the Master Class in Poetry at New School University. She is also a classical pianist.
In 1998, Laura rediscovered computer gaming, fell head-over-heels in love with Baldur’s Gate and Fallout, and has played literally hundreds of games since that time. Most recently, she was a Guild Officer in WoW and a Guild Leader in Warhammer Online. Laura manages the games portfolio and oversees the catalog team for GameStreamer. Her combined experience in business, social service, the arts, and gaming has given her several key skill-sets, including an extremely comprehensive knowledge of both the core and casual gaming market.
Diane brings over 20 years of Customer Service leadership and management roles in the corporate world. Her most recent position was as a National Director of Operations in Credit and Collections for AT & T Wireless. She performed various roles in that position, such as: leading an analytical team that identified gaps in systems, creating national policies and procedures, auditing internal and external call centers, consistently working with cross functional teams throughout the organization, with the goal to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
She has won various awards that include AT & T Wireless most prestigious – Circle of Excellence – for being part of a team that reduced bad debt over $150 million in one year, while improving revenue over $25 million.
A serial entrepreneur, Chris brings fourteen years of industry experience building great customer products. Prior to joining Gamestreamer, Chris was co-founder and CEO of Capzles.com, a rich media online tool for creating engaging, interactive Flash experiences for consumers and brands alike. Before Capzles Chris was hired by IGN Entertainment to build and manage their eCommerce direct-to-consumer game download service, Direct2Drive.
Chris grew D2D into a multimillion dollar profitable business, as well as extending the store as a B2B platform for branded whitelabel storefronts for major brands like Alienware, Ubisoft and Comcast, as well as non-gaming clients like American Idol, 24 and Star TV in India. Chris completed his MBA at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business in 2004.
At 1&1 Internet James managed the technical implementation aspects of large scale, multi-team projects working with both internal and external development resources. James brings his technical project management skills to GameStreamer where he is responsible for managing the development teams and the implementation and support of our products and platform. He manages multiple teams in Spain, Paris, Missouri, California and New York. These teams cover everything from design, to server management and implementation to the coding of our primary application. James is part of the original five that started the GameStreamer and even named it.
Based in Windsor, UK, David Hunter is GameStreamer's man on the ground in Europe. The foundations of David's experience were set in the 1980's during the early years of the PC boxed software revolution. Roles included Product Manager for Migent's Ability Software, and Marketing Manager for a major European computer and networking distributor. Drawn by his close involvement with the larger customers and resellers, David's move into sales came as Major Accounts Manager for Xerox's Ventura Software Inc.
Back in 1993, when floppy discs still dominated software delivery, David was invited by Sony DADC, the key player within optical media manufacturing, to set-up and run its UK market. David's sales agency was responsible for quickly establishing and maintaining Sony DADC's dominant position within the UK market, taking them from a standing start to deliver an eventual turnover in excess of £100 million p.a. During his 15 years association with Sony DADC, David worked with most of the major software and games publishers and landed some of the largest disc manufacturing contracts ever. He was instrumental in bringing to market new disc formats, digital services, and key technologies such as SecuROM DRM.
I started my computer career at southeast Missouri state university where I studied computer science and worked for the computer service department repairing computers. Cutting my teeth on the Tandy 1000 at age 8, I have been managing networks and designing applications every since. I was a co-founder and Vp of engineering for phoenix networks, founder of remotefixonline.com providing remote support across the globe. With a background in Linux and windows and all types of networking I can fix just about anything.
With over 20 years of experience in worldwide consumer entertainment and a proven track record for pioneering multinational business operations, Alyssa Padia Walles is an established professional in the fields of brand management, corporate evolution and international sales and marketing.
After graduating from the University of Southern California (USC) Alyssa started her career in advertising and later joined the Walt Disney Music Company and Hanna-Barbera Home Video, eventually opening an office for Hanna-Barbera in the U.K. A stint at Columbia Tristar Home Video (Sony Pictures Entertainment) led to an opportunity in 1995 with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where as Vice President of Sales and Planning she was on the senior management team launching PlayStation across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
In 2000, Alyssa took on the role of Senior Vice President of Corporate Evolution at Atari/Infogrames. In this position, she played a significant role in the high-profile integration of both GT Interactive and Hasbro Interactive and was responsible for the re-branding and re-launch of the Atari brand.
Through Amplitude Consulting, Alyssa focuses on business strategy, development, and marketing projects for high-profile consumer entertainment brands such as Leapfrog, Sony and Backyard Sports. From 2005-2008 she held the position of Co-President to Humongous, Inc. and was recently Board Vice-Chairman for The Wellness Community - West Los Angeles, an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, education and hope for all people affected by cancer. Alyssa is also a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Entertainment Media Council (www.emcouncil.org).
With 20 years of video and mobile gaming experience across multiple aspects of the business including sales, marketing, licensing, distribution and content creation, Cathy Tische has been instrumental in establishing many European companies in the U.S., as well as establishing new business divisions of major US companies internationally.
Cathy graduated from Cal State Northridge with a B.S. in Business and promptly landed her first job in the video game industry. After a few years she attended Law School to get her J.D., which enabled her to expand her area of expertise. She soon thereafter headed up Mattel Media’s international video game division, establishing distribution in all territories outside the U.S. In 2000, she turned her efforts to licensing for Atari and worked with major studios to acquire IP as well as licensed Atari’s brand for alternative merchandising opportunities.
In 2004 Cathy established MobileScope, a German-based mobile gaming company in the U.S. and subsequently worked for Konami in mobile marketing and for Eidos' mobile division working with carriers and developers.
