Overview

Create personalized print projects, with the powerful yet simple Layout Editor. The Layout Editor is where you find yourself when you run HCS, and is designed for the overall creation and layout of your document. It deals with composing pages, frames and text, and is where you would send your KazooPictures after they are finished. You also print your creations out from the Layout Editor.

Add great 3D and 2D models to your personal photos and pictures with the Image Editor. The Image Editor is used to create KazooPictures. It uses any image you care to supply, or from the many included with the software. You add 3D models, from a huge selection available, to your images, and Paint them in a variety of styles, giving the impression they are actually within the image. You can alter Lighting easily, and you can rub-out models to give the impression they are behind parts of the image. Move, Rotate and Resize the models to position them exactly as you like in your picture. You can position and orient a model anywhere in the scene using the navigation controls at the bottom of the Image Editor. Click on the button and then drag the mouse on screen to move, rotate or resize the model.

Paint the model with different effects, such as Hand Drawn, Cartoon and Chrome. Painting a model creates a high-quality KazooPicture instead of a Preview, which is the interactive model. High-quality pictures are static, and can include shadows if required. If you click on the screen after Painting, the model will be returned to its interactive state. Paints can either ‘texture’ the model, adding a pattern to its surface (3D), or modify the KazooPicture itself (2D) to give the impression of an oil-painted or pencil-sketched image. Apply different Lighting effects to the model. Change the direction of the lights, change the brightness and turn shadows on and off. Lighting is the key to making the picture look realistic. Lights are added as sets in the Lighting Pod – simply drag the light set from the pod onto the image, and it will automatically Paint. Clicking on the ‘Shadows’ button will re-paint exactly, but without the shadows. Clicking again will reverse this.

Rotate, flip and crop your photos with the Background Editor. The Background Editor lets you manipulate the photos before you compose the scene. You can crop the image, flip it, rotate it, enhance the colors AND remove red-eye in your photos. Collage photos with our Rub-out models. Rub-out models let you collage photos within the Image Editor, and rub-out areas you don’t want, giving you features normally only found in high-end packages. Layer photos on top of other photos, replace a celebrity’s face with your own…the possibilities are endless! Add Text objects, including automatic speech and thought bubbles to your projects, with our dedicated text module. You can add text easily to any document within the Layout Editor. One superb feature is the ability to automatically add speech and thought bubbles, with full editing capabilities. Simply add one to the page, position, and then drag the mouth point to the mouth of the character. Resizing the text will automatically resize the bubble along with it. Text can also be added in text boxes, or floating, and any fonts you have on your machine can be used within HCS. Create high-quality Comic Strips and Cartoons, Greetings cards, Invitations – the sky’s the limit!.
